In the mid-nineties there was a game mod website called Quake Command run by John Guthrie and Steve Bond. It was the first place I saw the term “weblog” used, and theirs was excellent. The blog was more comic prose than anything to do with the game itself, a record of disastrous beer runs and a time before the internet was a trough. Not a trace of the site remains, but it always struck me as being the right way to do something like this.

I’m about to go out and get a beer just now. I guess we’ll see what comes of it.
